Those who live near Aberfoyle will know that there are some very good single track routes, mostly thanks to our local race team Squadro Porcini and some older routes started by Glasgow Mountain Biking Club.
The new additions created for the recent sxc round 2 Aberfoyle are a welcome challenge with tricky sections at the top and some fast flowing twisty single track. Been busy training the last few weeks for Ten under the Ben May 21st as part of team Endangered Mamil's [ Middle aged men in Lycra ] so hope the old legs can set some good times, solo last time with 5 laps and just about killed myself! Thought I had done fairly well until the end when you realise the mega laps of 10 and 11 by some of the scary fit people out there!
Maps to follow, but thought I should get this started, please add if you want to share your own routes, if you have routes or pics please e-mail them to info@robmulholland.co.uk and I will be happy to add them to the page.
Cheers and happy biking out there!
Rob
SXC round 2 Aberfoyle
Squadra Porcini have been let loose again and are sure to have put together another excellent course, using as much natural singletrack as they can fit in! With ups and downs to challenge even the fittest riders, Aberfoyle is a fantastic place to develop your riding skills and with singletrack action close to the finish area, makes a great course for spectators too!

Big event tomorrow as I have entered the Trossachs Ton starting early Sunday morning from Stirling. I think there are about seven hundred taking part. Never managed to do enough training as we have been busy getting our farmhouse renovated and ready for letting out. First time doing 100 miles so hope the old legs don't pack in!
Good luck to all those taking part. The Trossachs has some fine road cycling even if a few of the roads need a bit of re-surfacing, but that's all part of the challenge! But if your a keen road biker you must come and try the Dukes Pass, well known with local riders and the views of the hills are defiantly worth the climb!
Trossachs Ton in the bag! Really enjoyed the day, mixed weather and some hard hills, had to dig deep for Crow Road after doing 80 miles, felt great on the last 10 along Carron valley and managed to push on a bit. Averaged about 14.4 so looking forward to getting a better time for the the Glasgow event in August. For info go to http://www.action.org.uk/trossachs_ton
